Sound Healing
Where Science Meets Sacred
Experience the profound shift that happens when your nervous system remembers how to rest.
What Is Sound Healing?
Sound healing uses specific frequencies and vibrations to support your body's natural ability to restore balance. It's not about "fixing" anything—it's about creating the conditions for your system to recalibrate.
Think of it as a reset for your nervous system. The healing instruments—crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes—create vibrations that your body recognizes at a cellular level. Your system naturally entrains to these frequencies, moving from fight-or-flight into deep rest.
This isn't mysticism. It's physics meeting biology.
Research shows that sound therapy can reduce cortisol (stress hormone) levels, lower blood pressure and heart rate, improve sleep quality, and support emotional regulation.1-3 A comprehensive review of over 400 published studies found strong evidence that music and sound have measurable mental and physical health benefits.4 Your body already knows how to heal. Sometimes it just needs permission to remember.
The Science Behind the Sound
Frequency & Entrainment
Your brainwaves naturally synchronize with external rhythms—a phenomenon called entrainment.5 Research shows that music around 60 beats per minute can cause the brain to synchronize with the beat, creating alpha brainwaves (8-14 Hz) associated with relaxed awareness.6 During a sound healing session, the consistent frequencies guide your brain from beta (active thinking) through alpha (relaxed awareness) into theta (deep meditation) states.
Nervous System Regulation
Sound vibrations activate your vagus nerve—the longest cranial nerve in your body—which signals your parasympathetic nervous system, your body's "rest and digest" mode.7-9 Studies demonstrate that sound therapy can increase vagal tone, which is associated with improved emotional regulation, stronger immune function, and better overall health.10 This is where healing happens.
Cellular Resonance
Every cell in your body has a resonant frequency. Sound healing introduces harmonizing frequencies that support cellular function and release stored tension at a physical level. Research in vibrational therapy has shown that low-frequency sound can improve pain management and support healing processes.11
Integration
The effects don't stop when the session ends. Many clients report improved sleep, clearer thinking, and emotional shifts in the days following a session as their system continues integrating the work.
Your Sound Healing Experience
Before Your Session
We'll begin with a brief conversation about what you're working with—whether that's stress, a life transition, physical tension, or simply a need for deep rest. There's no preparation required. Just come as you are.
During Your Session
You'll lie comfortably (in person) or in your own space (virtual) while I create a soundscape using crystal singing bowls, tuning forks, chimes, and other healing instruments. The vibrations move through and around your body, inviting your system to release what it's ready to let go of.
Most people report entering a deeply meditative state—not quite asleep, but profoundly relaxed. Some experience visual imagery, emotional releases, or physical sensations as tension dissolves. Others simply rest.
There's no wrong way to receive this work.
During Your Session
You'll want to move slowly, drink plenty of water, and give yourself space for whatever wants to emerge. Many clients schedule sessions when they can rest afterward—this isn't the time to rush back into meetings or demands.
